Underwriting Assistant

POSITION TITLE: Workers Compensation Underwriting Assistant

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Plays a critical role by supporting the underwriter and working with brokers nationwide.
• Creates and completes an underwriting analysis on new submissions and renewal business.
• Orders and reviews loss runs and experience modification factors.
• Processes policies, endorsements, premium audits, invoicing and cancellations.
• Provides rating on new and renewal business.
• Interacts with agents/brokers as needed.
• Updates and oversees various reports.
• Displays a firm understanding of individual WC state rules, laws and procedures.
• Takes initiative to gain proficiency with new tools, technology and processes as they become available.
• Displays professionalism and works with high ethical standards at all times.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task.
• Knowledge of workers compensation insurance including coverage, rating, rules and regulation.
• Computer proficiency, including the ability to key with acceptable speed and accuracy.
• Must be a team player who keeps Beacon goals in mind and promotes group success.
• Friendly and willing to assist both internal and external customers.
• Flexible and adaptable to change. Willing to provide suggestions and make. recommendations for the betterment of the Beacon organization.

CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE
• Florida 2-20 License or ability and willingness to obtain.
• College and previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Professional insurance designation(s) or willingness to obtain.

Salary will be commensurate with knowledge and experience.
